Hver sem er á aldrinum 18-30 ára getur sótt um.

PROJECT 1: City Public Library in Gdynia

Location: Gdynia, Poland

Activity duration: 12 months (Oct 2019 – Oct 2020)

Hosting organization: City Public Library in Gdynia

Requirements: The volunteer should be communicative and open for new experiences, creative and inventive, interested in methods of active education, open for people from other countries and cultures and willing to co-operate and work in groups. Being interested in literature and librarian’s tasks or some artistic skills would be a positive asset taken into consideration during the recruitment process.

Volunteers will work with the local community in one branch of the City Public Library in Gdynia, which is a hive of activity and a great place for the local community to meet, learn new things and have the use of many facilities. Find out more and apply!

PROJECT 2: ADAPA Foundation

Location: Gdynia, Poland

Activity duration: 12 months (Oct 2019 – Oct 2020)

Hosting organization: Centre for Youth Co-operation and Mobility, Gdynia, Poland

Requirements: The project welcomes anyone who is open-minded, understanding, and tolerant of those who differ from the most. It is welcomed if the volunteer is interested in therapy for persons with Autism Spectrum and other developmental disorders.

ADAPA Foundation works with adults with Autism and other developmental disorders and it is a basis for the Occupational Therapy Workshops (OTW) that are designed to offer training on occupational and social skills to the participants in the most practical manner. The volunteer will be able to work directly with therapists in these workshops, helping them in order to perform a safer therapy. Find out more and apply!

PROJECT 3: Nursery School no. 30

Location: Gdynia, Poland

Activity duration: 12 months (Oct 2019 – Oct 2020)

Hosting organization: Przedszkole Samorządowe no. 30 w Gdyni, Poland

Requirements: The volunteer should like children and catch easily contact with them. It is important that the person is open and cheerful, as children feel well in such company. We expect active and resourceful candidates.

The main aim of the Nursery School/Kindergarten is to help healthy and disabled children in their development process of the proper relations with the world, development of their identity and high self-esteem, and also prepare them for the primary school. Find out more and apply!

PROJECT 4: Association for Children and Youth VITAVA

Location: Gdynia, Poland

Activity duration: 12 months (Oct 2019 – Oct 2020)

Hosting organization: Association for Children and Youth “VITAVA”, Gdynia, Poland

Requirements: The volunteer should be interested in working with children. S/he should be an open person, willing to share his/her culture, hobbies, interests, and open to organize different activities for children. S/he should like to develop and improve his/her skills and abilities and be open for new experiences.

The Association runs three day-care centers for children (age 8-13) from families “with problems”. These are places where children come after school to play, make homework and take part in socio-therapeutic activities. Find out more and apply!

PROJECT 5: Saint Nicolas Bishop Association

Location: Gdynia, Poland

Activity duration: 12 months (Oct 2019 – Oct 2020)

Requirements: We look forward to a cheerful, patient volunteer that is determined to achieve his/her goals and is respectful of our work style, which is consistent with catholic social teaching.

The main aim of Saint Nicolas Association is to support the human development in accordance to The Gospel and the rules of Catholic Social Teaching, in particular bringing help to children, youth, elders and families in tough living situation. Regular activities include running the socio-therapeutic common-room, youth club and a senior club. Moreover, there are events and actions animating the local community, festivals and family events. PROJECT 6: Social Welfare Home in Gdynia

Location: Gdynia, Poland

Activity duration: 12 months (Oct 2019 – Oct 2020)

Hosting organization: Dom Pomocy Społecznej

Requirements: The volunteer should be a rather extrovert person with good manners, open to people and new experiences. S/he should respect the limits of the inhabitants of the house. Above all, they should be responsible and not hesitate to ask the staff for help if needed.

The task of the Social Welfare Home is to provide residents with the full time care and to meet their essential needs: living needs, nursery needs and provide support in accordance with applicable standards, and to enable inhabitants to properly take advantage of the health services. The inhabitants are between 50 and 100 years old, a lot of them with disabilities and/or other diseases. Volunteers support work mainly in Occupational Therapy, e.g.art therapy, music therapy, bibliotherapy, etc., take part in all the events organized for the residents and help in transportation of the residents to the rehabilitation.  Find out more and apply!
