ESC PROJECTS FOR YOUNGSTERS BETWEEN 18 AND 30 YEARS OLD

+ The Icelandic Red Cross - asylum seeker team - The volunteer will work as part of the Red Cross program Social Support for Asylum Seekers. The main role of the ESC volunteer is planning and running the activities (Women's group, Youth club, language classes, etc) alongside the project managers and volunteers as well as offering other support as needed.
+ The Icelandic Red Cross - working with the refugee - The volunteer will help in the refugee support team who run two mutual integration projects in which the volunteer will be involved, as well as some social events or social projects. The volunteer’s time will be divided between these projects and additional tasks such as volunteer recruitment, admin work and more.
+ AUS ICYE Iceland office - The volunteer will be supporting the project manager in the daily running of the office as well as looking after social media, marketing, creating events for local volunteers, etc.
+ Clubhouse Geysir - members club for people with mental illnesses - The volunteer will be asked to assist the staff and members of the Clubhouse to carry on various tasks within the organisation, from helping cook lunch to administrative tasks, create events or just be there for a talk.
+ ABC children help - second hand market and charity - They run a second hand shop to support the organisation - The main job of the volunteer is to work in the secondhand shop, sorting through the various things they receive and helping the incoming customers with their search or purchase.
+ Samtökin78 - Samtökin ‘78 is a queer interest and activism association. Their purpose is to ensure that lesbians, gay, bisexual, asexual, pansexual, intersex, trans people and other queer people are visible, acknowledged and enjoy full rights in Icelandic society, regardless of their country of origin. The volunteer will assist the organisation on all levels, from greeting clients, to administrative tasks, help organise events, help with the webshop etc.
