HEART TOKUSHIMA er athvarf fyrir dýr sem eiga enga að. Sjálfboðaliðar sem starfa hjá samtökunum hafa það eina verkefni að sinna þessum dýrum og veita þeim betra líf  í öryggi og hamingju sem þessi dýr eiga ekki kost á annarsstaðar.

Project title: HEART TOKUSHIMA

Duration: 12 months (feb 2019 – feb 2020)

Location: Tokushima, Japan

Type of project: Animals(working for the protection of pets)

Aims of the project: To build a community in which companion animals can live free from suffering or cruelty.

HEART was founded in 2006 by Canadian Susan Mercer with the long-term goal of developing an animal rescue center in the Shikoku area and decreasing the stray dog and cat population through spay/neuter services.

Activities include the rescue, care, and re-homing of Stray, abandoned, abused and neglected animals. We have 200 dogs and 30 cats. We also promote spaying and neutering pets, as well as responsible pet ownership through education and supportive means.

A volunteer will take care of pets(dog, cat etc.)

-Taking a walk with them
-Feeding
-Cleaning the shelter
-Helping to hold events
And so on

Volunteers will share the volunteer house and must cook for themselves.
